NEXT-UP project is very interested in perceptions of young people concerning education and training and their perspectives and expectations towards job markets. In WP2 the UAB team is leading an international collection of 125 longitudinal qualitative interviews. Partners will take the interviews following the same protocol.
To insure consistency of the implementation of protocols and analysis of the data recieved, the UAB team is travelling to work together with partners and train the interviewers.
The first workshop and meeting took place on 6th of October 2025 in Tallinn University and was aimed at project partners involved in qualitative interviewing and data analysis. Participants came from Tampere University, Tallinn University, and the Autonomous University of Barcelona. The purpose of the meeting was to harmonise the methodology to ensure comparable, high-quality collection and analysis of WP2 data. During the day, we covered four main topics : principles of conducting qualitative interviews; implementation of the NEXT-UP guide; the conceptual framework of the Estonian and Finnish cases; and an introduction to analysis and coding in Atlas.ti. The participants focused their discussions on practical techniques, standardised workflows, and how to harmonise the coding framework. As an outcome, partners clarified common working principles, agreed on quality criteria, and strengthened the skills needed to support consistent implementation of WP2 activities across all participating institutions.
